Death and Life Issues (Cal Thomas)

Cal Thomas in  his radio commentary today  talks about life and death in  the news this week.   Death in what happen at Virgina Tech. Life in how some preachers, and others told people the good news of salvation in Jesus.
Death in the babies that were murdered because of abortion on demand being the law of  the land. Life in  the highest court in  the land the Supreme Court upholding the law against Partial Birth Abortions. Cal talks about  a lady who  compares  the court ruling with ( http://wabs.wava.com/ram/ctc/ctc20070420.ram )making men get a pace-maker. That is the moral thinking in America today. We compare a device to a human baby. Thank God for President Bush helping to outlaw Partial Birth Abortions and naming judges who care about the law and life to support the  other judges who will follow the rule of  the law, instead of trying to make laws.

Outlawing Partial -birth abortion

One Judge perhaps did make a difference.
The Supreme Court's conservative majority handed pro. Life  forces a major victory Wednesday in a decision that bans a controversial abortion procedure and set the stage for further restrictions.  ( http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=3052624  )

For the first time since the court established a woman's right to an abortion in 1973, the justices upheld a nationwide ban on a specific abortion method, labeled partial-birth abortion by its opponents. the justices upheld a nationwide ban on a specific abortion method, labeled partial-birth abortion by its opponents.
Here in Nebraska a doctor who was behind  this court case said  the following back in  a December interview.

"The only way women come close to achieving equality is if they can control their fertility,"  65-year-old  dR. Carhart said. "Abortion rights for men have been available since the beginning of time. When they're unhappy with a pregnancy, they walk away; it doesn't matter whether it's the day after conception or when the child is 10 years old."

(Billy>>> The supreme court did it's job. It interpted the law. I heard one radio person who said the court outlawed  partial-birth abortion. It didn't do that which isn't its job to do.  It ruled on a law. It is not to change a law unless it has before it a case of someone's being denied their rights. Thanks also should go to Bush who signed this law which President  Clinton vetod).

Islam vs. Islamists

If you don't think PBS has a political agenda you better sit down before you read the rest of  this posting.

Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. writes,"For decades, conservatives have been among the taxpayers whose money has been made available in immense quantities to underwrite public broadcasting. Over the years, they have justifiably felt considerable resentment about the fact that very little of that funding — by some estimates as much as $2.5 billion per year — has been expended on projects that warrant their support."
"In fact, the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and its flagship stations (including Washington's WETA) have frequently allowed the public airwaves to be used to promote a variety of agendas with which as much as half the population strongly disagreed. These have included many hour-long documentaries and other programs featuring vitriolic critiques of our government and its leaders, disparaging portrayals of our country's policies and values and flattering portrayals, if not effusive endorsements, of those who share such sentiments."
"Mr. MacNeil's film, "Islam vs. Islamists" focuses on the courageous Muslims in the United States, Canada and Western Europe who are challenging the power structure in virtually every democracy that has been established largely with Saudi money to advance worldwide the insidious ideology known as Islamofascism. In fact, thanks to the MacNeil-Lehrer film, the PBS audience will shortly be treated to an apparently fawning portrait of one of the most worrisome manifestations of that Saudi-backed organizational infrastructure in America: the Muslim Student Association (MSA). The MSA's efforts to recruit and radicalize students and suppress dissenting views on American campuses is a matter of record and alarming in the extreme. "
"To its credit, the leadership of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) launched an initiative several years ago to diversify the sources of documentary films in the hope of bringing different perspectives to the PBS audience about some of the most critical issues of our time. Thus was born the $20 million "America at a Crossroads" series which will begin airing on the PBS network in eleven prime-time segments starting on Sunday night."
"Unfortunately, the original vision of the CPB sponsors of the Crossroads series suffered at the hands of PBS and WETA when the project was turned over last year to the latter organizations to execute. To be sure, a few films about or by people perceived to be "conservatives" were among the 20 selected out of 440 proposals originally submitted as part of a rigorous competition. These included, notably ones featuring former Defense Department official Richard Perle and an outspoken critic of Islamofascism, Irshad Manji."
(Why is it PBS isn't open to having a film which shows some of  the problems inside the Islam faith. If this was about  the Christian faith I don't believe PBS would have any problem showing it.All of us tax payers support PBS  inlcuding those of  us on  the right. Also us tax payers who are concerned about parts of Islam support PBS with our tax money. This film would be a good item for PBS to show us in America at  this time. of course I'm not sure the leaders of PBS care about helping  this nation).
Cal Thomas a few days ago also had a great radio commentary on  this item.

Imus, Sharpton Jackson,

Bernie Goldberg sure was speaking for me when he was on Fox News last night.

BILL O'REILLY, HOST:Let's bring in our two ace media analysts, Jane Hall in Washington, Bernie Goldberg in Miami, whose new book, "Crazies to the Left of Me, Wimps to the Right," comes out next week, and has an Imus component.

How fortunate for you, Mr. Goldberg.

BERNARD GOLDBERG, AUTHOR, FOX NEWS ANALYST: Yes. Who would have thunk it, right?

Let me talk quick, because I know I have got a lot to say here. First of all, there's no subject in America, Bill, that journalists are more frightened of than race. And it's not just journalists. It's liberals in general, and it's also the wimps on the political right, the politicians who are afraid to talk about race.

Let's stipulate that Don Imus said something stupid that he should apologize for, which he did I have also met Don Imus on three occasions. For me, in my opinion, he is a mean-spirited guy.

Having said that, , the idea that the moral crusade to get him fired is being led by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, two world-class race-hustlers, is beyond preposterous. And — and you will never see in the media the following: These two guys are totally incapable of fixing the real problems that plague parts of black America.

And Don Imus, as nasty as he is, isn't one of those problems — 70 percent illegitimacy rate, men who don't take care of their babies, 15-year-old girls having babies, a 50 percent high school dropout rate. Sharpton and Jackson don't have a clue as to how to fix this. But they do know how to go after a guy for making a stupid comment that really isn't as bad as any of the things I just mentioned.

(Read the rest GOLDBERG's thoughts here Bernie Goldberg on Imus Controversy -).

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton  say they  are spiritual leaders in black America. If  they truly cared about leading black America they would  start to go after the issue's  which are hurting  the back family  the most, and it isn't  the sin of Don Imis. Also why do these two men  get away with calling others names. The name hypocrite sure sounds good here.

Fifth Graders Having Sex

Five  fifth  graders in  Louisana are  facing  criminal charges after authorities said four of them had sex in front of other students in an unsupervised classroom. You read right fifth graders having sex.
( http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/strange/news-article.aspx?storyid=79332)   The students were arrested Tuesday at the Spearsville School in Spearsville, Louisiana. (
NBCNC Report)
Two 11-year-old girls, a 12-year-old boy and a 13-year old boy were charged with obscenity which is a felony. An 11-year-old boy, who allegedly acted as a lookout for teachers, was charged with being an accessory.

Authorities said the incident happened March 27 at the K-12th school.

School officials say a teacher is normally in the fifth-grade class, but had left to attend an assembly inadvertently leaving the classroom unsupervised.

The class, which had around ten  other students, was alone for about 15 minutes according to school officials.

"When no teacher showed up, the four began to have sex in the classroom with the other elementary students in the classroom with them," said Union Parish Sheriff Bob Buckley.

It took a day for authorities to find out about the incident.
"One of the students in the class talked to a high school student and told them what happened.

That student immediately went to the teacher who went to the principal" Sheriff Buckley said.
Why are young people and in this case fifth graders doing wrong thing. Check out a posting I did on my other blog on why kids are doing wrong today (http://billydaviddickson.blogspot.com/2007/04/10-year-olds-attack.html).
Could fifth graders having sex be the end result of  safe sex education and the thinking kids are going to have it so lets teach them to do it safely. We don't do that with teeanger drinking, and drug use.

America and sadly even some of our leaders have embraced anything goes. We have kicked  the Bible and anything of faith, or God out of  the schools, but  have welcomed the  condoms.

I wouldn't put these young fifth graders in prison unless there is no other way to handle this. Please don't read me wrong this kids need to be delt with but the answer isn't prison.Perhaps these children should be put in a Christian group home which will teach them  the  right view of sex.

Rush is Right Sen. Hagel

I  sometimes  wonder if Senator Hagel ever thinks before he speaks, or  takes time to study the issues. The good Senator has now made the claim we are not at war with radical Islam. In reply to that insane thinking Rush Limbaugh started a new spot on his radio show called guess the religioun. Rush talked about many of  the evil things being done around the world by followers of radical Islam. Rush asked which religioun are  the ones who kidnapped the British troops.  The terrorists who have tried to kill us, and want us dead, which religioun are they.  ( http://wabs.wava.com/ram/ctc/ctc20070402.ram  )
Good point Rush. It is not my faith is it your faith Sen. Hagel?

Muslim students Kill Teacher

When  people say Christians suffer in America, part of me wants to laugh. Yes, I know we are losing many of our rights. However for the most part no one is being murdered because they are a follower of Christ, in the USA.

Christianah Oluwatoyin Oluwasesin, a teacher at Government Secondary School of Gandu in this northern Nigerian town, was in high spirits last Wednesday (March 21) as she made her way to school where she  was a teacher. She was looking forward   after the final day of exams, she would be able to join  her husband in their hometown of Abeokuta, in the southwestern state of Ogun; a few months earlier, her husband Femi Oluwasesin had gone to Abeokuta to take a hospital position as a laboratory technician. .

Musa told Compass that Oluwasesin had collected papers, books and bags before the exam in the all-girls class, in accordance with school procedures to prevent cheating, and dropped the materials in front of the class.

While noting that Oluwasesin was not aware the belongings included a Quran, a local newspaper reported she tossed the belongings outside the classroom. But Musa, who rushed into the classroom soon after students began yelling, told Compass that Oluwasesin had dropped the belongings in front of the class.

“Usually such items are returned to every student as each returns her answer script,” Musa said. “Soon after the bags collected by Oluwasesin were dropped in front of the class, one of the girls in the class began to cry. She told her colleagues that she had a copy of the Quran in her bag, that Oluwasesin touched the bag, and that by doing so she had desecrated the Quran, since she was a Christian.” Soon after the student raised this alarm, other students in class began to shout “Allahu Akbar [God is great].”

“It was at this point that I was attracted to the riotous scene in that class, and I then rushed there,” said Musa, who said he witnessed the murder of Oluwasesin by the Muslim students and extremists. “How could a teacher know that that there was a copy of the Quran in a student’s bag if this was not pointed out to her?”
This is an outrage. These students must be in spiritual bondage if  they would kill a teacher who by accident hurt their Bible. If  you know somebody who says that the Islam faith  is  a peaceful faith please direct them to this story.

Reaching Peace

What is the answer to the evils of gangs, and young poor kids being killed on  our streets.   The left says we need more funds from Uncle Sam, while the right says we just need to get tough on crime, but I think they both could be wrong.
Last Sunday  (http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1219&u_sid=2350292)  In my city ten  clergy members employed the Beatitudes from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount to inspire more than a thousand people to fight for peace and justice .
A coalition of pastors organized a unity service at a black  Baptist Church to bring people together and raise awareness.

The Rev. Larry Clay, a Baptist pastor, spoke on the Beatitude "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

People can't rely on their own strength, Clay said. "When we all look to God, and when we all depend on God, God will make a difference in our community."

The pastors in the coalition have been visiting residents in high-violence areas and plan to meet with young people to offer guidance.

Sunday's service used spiritual songs and a series of 10 sermons to inspire those in attendance. The crowd enthusiastically responded with clapping and amens.
It is time churches of all races put  preaching  the Bible ahead of politics  if it be from  the left, or  the right. People aren't change by laws, or money even though both are needed at times. They are changed by a spiritual faith in  the Lord. If we want to see our nation, and world change we need to get back to  that. It is time preachers return to  their first love, and call our children into a better life.
What do you think? Write and tell me.

Another Post on Chuck Hagel

Below is a letter I wrote my local paper, which I'm happy to report they did print. For  the record I live in  the state of Nebraska.

I got very excited when I heard that our Republican Attorney General Jon Bruning has formed an exploratory committee to run for the United States Senate.
My thrill soon turned to political disappointment. Bruning, who I have been mostly pleased with said he plans to run only if Senator Chuck Hagel is not in the race. I believe if the right Republican (perhaps any Republican) is willing to challenge Mr. Hagel (if he does try to be re-elected) could be given the nomination by the voters. I don't know if Hagel is going to run for the White House, Senate, dog catcher, or any office, but I do believe the conservatives in this state are ready to send Mr. Hagel packing. I'm not sure if the possible candidates see it that way but they should.
It is time we put doing the right thing ahead of our political loyalties.

CA. Gov. Takes on Limbaugh

There is a war going on in the right. It is between talk show host Rush Limbaugh, and CA. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.  ( http://www.latimes.com/news/local/politics/cal/la-me-arnold21mar21,0,2284868.story?coll=la-home-headlines )

"All irrelevant. Rush Limbaugh is irrelevant. I am not his servant," the governor said on NBC's "Today" show.

Limbaugh then declared on his radio program that Schwarzenegger, lacking the communications skills to persuade Californians of his Republican values, had sold them out.

"If he had the leadership skills to articulate conservative principles and win over the public as [former President] Reagan did, then he would have stayed conservative," said Limbaugh, who is often seen as the embodiment of all conservative viewpoints.
What has the CA. Gov. done to make those on the right question if he really is one of us, stem-cell research, mandatory curbs on carbon dioxide emissions and universal health care.

In the NBC interview, Schwarzenegger said he was "the people's servant of California. What they call me — Democrat or Republican or in the center, this and that — that is not my bottom line. This is for them to talk about."

Appearing on "Face the Nation" on Feb. 25, for example, Schwarzenegger was asked about Limbaugh by host Bob Schieffer.

The governor replied, "I always say that you don't have to give up your principles, all you have to do is just serve the people. And when you have two parties, you have to compromise."
Some of us on the right tried to warn the people of CA. if they elected Schwarzenegger, they wouldn't be getting a true conservative. A book I read says by their fruit you will know them. I guess those of us who warned the CA. voters are being proven right, aren't we?

Senator Hagel May Run Alone

I got excited today when here in Nebraska  I heard that our Republican
Attorney General Jon Bruning has formed an exploratory committee to run for the United States Senate. (to read more about  this news item click this link http://www.kmtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=6229478 ).  After what Senator Hagel did (see my post on Hagel  at this link http://billydaviddickson.blogspot.com/2007/03/chuck-hagel-running-for-president.html )this week, I thought great if he does run for the US Senate  we have somebody who is willing to ran against him.
My  thrill soon turned to political disappointment,  Bruning who I have been mostly pleased  with said he plans to run  only if Senator Chuck Hagel is not in the race. "Serving Nebraskans has always been my passion," Bruning said.  "Those I have met and learned from in the coffee shops and classrooms across this state keep me motivated. Nebraska is blessed with a pioneer spirit that makes this state great. I'm proud to call Nebraska home."
I believe if the right Republican  (perhaps any Republican) who is  willing to challenge Mr. Hagel  could be given the  nomination by  the voters. I don't know if Hagel is going to run for  the White House or not, but say he doesn't. I believe  the conservatives in this state are ready to send Mr. Hagel packing. I'm not sure if  the possible candidates see it  that way.

General Peter Pace

A "-military" advocacy group is demanding an apology from the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Why? The short answer is he wasn't PC.

General Peter Pace told the Chicago Tribune, "I believe homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts." He also said adultery is immoral.(http://www.crosswalk.com/news/11531605/ )

"I do not believe the United States is well served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way," Pace told the newspaper.

Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) -- a group that is pushing to end the military's ban on openly homosexual troops, called Pace's comments "outrageous, insensitive and disrespectful."

"Our men and women in uniform make tremendous sacrifices for our country, and deserve General Pace's praise, not his condemnation," said SLDN Executive Director C. Dixon Osburn.

"As a Marine and a military leader, General Pace knows that prejudice should not dictate policy. It is inappropriate for the Chairman to condemn those who serve our country."

Osburn also called on Defense Secretary Gates to condemn Pace's remarks.

SLDN points to research showing that an estimated 65,000 homosexual Americans are currently serving on active duty and the reserves. Another 1 million homosexual Americans are veterans of the armed forces.

Ok but all  those are serving  under a don't ask don't tell policy. You can't be an  outspoken homosexual in  the arm forces, though my guess is  some pro gay groups would like to change that policy. Also aren't our men, and women of  the arm forces dying for freedom of speech even if it isn't PC.

G.O.P. Candidates Criticize Slur by Conservative Author

Three of the top Republican presidential candidates have denounced one of their party’s best-known conservative commentators for using an anti gay epithet when discussing a Democratic presidential contender at a gathering of conservatives here. ( G.O.P. Candidates Criticize Slur by Conservative Author - New York Times)
The remarks by Ann Coulter, an author who regularly speaks at conservative events, were sharply denounced by the candidates, Senator John McCain of Arizona, Rudolph W. Giuliani of New York and Mitt Romney of Massachusetts.

Good for them. If us on the right want to win people over including our friends we need to focus on the positive. We need to stick to the issues but slam others with mud.

Ann Coulter should apologize at once. If she won't do it, perhaps she should be given a bar of soap, conservatives should stop asking her to speak, or appear on their TV, and radio shows.

Ann is so right on  many of  the issues, but our focus should be on impacting others for our values not being right. Instead of getting people to come join us, what Ann said will drive people away.
Now don't read  me wrong we should address issues, but it does concern me that Republicans  have as  their top presidential candidate a man who is pro choice. Again though we need to win people over, and deal with  the issues not call those on  the left names.
