Cold Day in Nebraska

It is a cold day here in Nebraska. This morning it was 3 degrees below 0 and the wind chill made it even colder. I thought schools might get called off so I was hoping to be able to do a lot of blogging this afternoon, but they weren't so I will have to save my blogging for tonight. Keep warm.

Why No Posting Power Out

Those of you who have  wondered  why until yesterday I had not posted in a few days. The answer you will find in this posting.
We had a terrible storm Friday and  were without power until  Sunday  afternoon about 2:50 P.M. USA Central time.
Lots of trees have been knocked down and some power lines are down too. Many people here in Omaha, Nebraska  have been without power. Sadly two souls were killed in the city next to us in the state of  Iowa. They were sitting in  a car Friday night. Keep their families in your prayers or thoughts along with all those impacted by this terrible storm.
We did have some hail damage to a table and some chairs on our deck. I am not sure if our insurance will cover it.
(Below  is part of a story from our local paper. As a line of severe thunderstorms approaches Omaha, weather warning sirens have sounded throughout the city.Wind gusts of 70 to 80 mph have been reported in Saunders and Douglas Counties.
Hail as large as 1.75 inches was reported in Saunders County at about 4:30 p.m.
Tree limbs were reported downed by the storm as it moved into the metro area.
Power was reported out in various areas of the city.
These storms were located along a line extending from Kennard to Valley to Mead in eastern Nebraska.
(Read  more about this terrible storm, storm updates. Also view some pictures of what the storm did below.)
