McCain criticizes Obama again about Iran

Republican John McCain raised the specter of a nuclear Iran in a speech to a pro-Israel group, once again chastising Democrat Barack Obama for his willingness to meet with leaders of Iran and other U.S. foes. (  McCain criticizes Obama again about Iran)McCain has criticized Obama for saying in a debate last year that he would meet leaders of Iran and other U.S. foes without preconditions. The Arizona senator argues Obama is naive and inexperienced to think that such a meeting would yield progress. "It's hard to see what such a summit with President (Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad would actually gain, except an earful of anti-Semitic rants, and a worldwide audience for a man who denies one Holocaust and talks before frenzied crowds about starting another," McCain told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
(This is an issue McCain should focus on. Obama is more than willing to sit down with those who hate America along with  Israel and would love to wipe us off of the map.)

Obama quits Chicago church

Barack Obama said Saturday he has resigned his 20-year membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago "with some sadness" in the aftermath of inflammatory remarks by his longtime pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and more recent fiery remarks at the church by a visiting priest.

"This is not a decision I come to lightly ... and it is one I make with some sadness," Obama said at a news conference after campaign officials released a letter of resignation he sent to the church on Friday.

"I'm not denouncing the church and I'm not interested in people who want me to denounce the church," he said, adding that the new pastor at Trinity and "the church have been suffering from the attention my campaign has focused on them."

"It's clear that now that I'm a candidate for president, every time something is said in the church by anyone associated with Trinity, including guest pastors, the remarks will imputed to me even if they totally conflict with my long-held views, statements and principles," he said.

"I have no idea how it will impact my presidential campaign but I know it was the right thing to do for me and my family," he said.
( I don't believe people should attack a church when they leave still it is proper to point out the wrongs a church has done.  I don't know Barack Obama heart but I wonder if this was more of a political move than a spiritual or family move. One can hope Obama finds a church which truly follows Christ and preaches theBible instead of hate for whites and America.  Read more on this issue  right here .)

President Bush Addresses Members of the Knesset

(Below is an email I got today from  the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.)
Dear Friend of Israel,
Earlier today, during his second visit to Israel since attaining office, U.S. President Bush addressed Israel's parliament, the Knesset. While many significant speeches have been given in this chamber since Israel's founding 60 years ago, I truly believe that the President's will stand as one of the most memorable.
In his speech, President Bush described Israel as "the redemption of an ancient promise given to Abraham and Moses and David," reaffirmed that "the alliance between our governments is unbreakable, yet the source of our friendship runs deeper than any treaty," and recognized Israel as "free and modern society based on the love of liberty, a passion for justice, and a respect for human dignity." It was a stirring address, one that demonstrated that the President understands well the religious, moral, political, and strategic reasons why Israel and America must and will stand together.
