Arkansas mom pregnant with 18th child

The Duggar kids planned a big Mother's Day surprise for their mom this year. But the surprise was on them when Michelle Duggar announced on the TODAY Show that they were soon to welcome an 18th sibling.
( It is nice to see a family who is willing to be fruitful. Though I am not sure I could handle 18 children or could most people.

Parents swear kids cuss more

Although there's no absolute proof backing them up, parents swear kids are dropping more F-bombs than ever before - and they're worried sick about the collateral damage.
Some are even sending their 5-year-olds to psychologists to get them to sound less like drunken sailors and more like kindergartners.
The issue drew national attention recently when a South Pasadena High School student started a No Cussing Club and helped launch a "cuss-free week" in the city.
But with advice ranging from doing nothing to washing out their mouths out with soap, just what the !@$% is a parent to do?
"I graduated (from high school) in 1980, and we heard people cussing, but if we got caught, we got suspended," said Brent Hatch, the father of McKay Hatch, the 15-year-old student who is leading the no-cussing campaign in South Pasadena.
( At times children just repeat what they hear if it be at home, school, or on tv. I do miss the good old days when you got a bar of soap or a paddling at school and at home if you used four letter words. Read more of this story Parents swear kids cuss more.)

Parents upset over school background checks

A local school  leader has upset some parents what has he done? Had sex with a student, fire a good teacher? Nope.
Carolyn McKinley, whose son and daughter attend Plattsmouth Nebraska  Elementary School, said she was shocked  when her second-grade daughter brought home a security form for her to fill out.
The form, McKinley said, was required for her to be allowed to bring food and attend her children's Valentine's Day parties.
"I am just another parent, and I don't understand why I should have to give the school a lot of very personal information, including my Social Security number, to sit in the back of the class and watch the kids eat treats," McKinley said. "They are asking for information which I think is inappropriate."
The ACLU is looking into the matter. This is one time when a government school is doing right. Youth sports teams today have to do back ground checks on their volunteer coaches and even some churches are having to do that so why shouldn't a public school do the same. Yes perhaps the school should allow parents to bring food to a party without being checked but still the school is right. When it comes to children schools and all of us have to be careful. No one should be above the rules including parents. Think about this what if the school didn't do this and some parent did something  horrible to a child while at the school. Better to be safe than sorry and better to upset some parents and keep kids safe. As a person who has gone through some checks they are painless.
