No Happy Birthday personalize cake for 3 Year Old Boy

Heath and Deborah Campbell said their local ShopRite supermarket in Greenwich Township, N.J., refused to personalize a cake for their son.

(That sounds sad and looks like an outrage that a store won't even personalize a cake for a little boy right, or is there more to the story. Please read the rest of the story below.)

A New Jersey family who named their child after Adolf Hitler is having problems getting a birthday cake made for their 3-year-old.

"We believe the request ... to inscribe a birthday wish to Adolf Hitler is inappropriate," Karen Meleta, a ShopRite spokeswoman, told the Express-Times.

Barry Morrison of the Anti-Defamation League agreed with ShopRite's decision. "Might as well put a sign around their [the children's] neck that says bigot, racist, hatemonger,"Morrison said. "What's the difference?"  ( Child Named Hitler Has Problem Getting Birthday Cake )

The Campbells say they don't understand what the big deal is. "ShopRite can't even make a cake for a 3-year-old," mother Deborah Campbell said."That's sad."

(The little boy of course has done nothing wrong here. The store was right to refuse to write Happy Birthday Adolf Hitler. Why did the parents do such  a dumb thing and then say they don't understand what the big deal is. The outrage is the parents having an attitude like that. Every name in the world makes people think of something if it be Jesus, Billy Graham, Mother Teresa , Saddam Hussein, or Adolf Hitler. The fact is the name Hitler will always remind people of the evil of  the  Holocaust .)

Memories of anti-Jewish riots live on

The night the rifle butts pounded against his family's door, 16-year-old Joe Boin knew life as he knew it was over.

Soldiers dragged him from the house, knocking his screaming mother and sisters away. The soldiers took him to a marketplace in his hometown of Cottbus, Germany. There, they viciously beat Boin and dozens of other Jewish men. A mob spit on the men, hurled stones and insults at them, urged the soldiers on.

The crowd cheered and Boin watched helplessly as the soldiers pushed old men into a synagogue, then set it afire.

That night, 70 years ago on Nov. 9, the world began to shatter for Boin and millions of other European Jews. Soldiers and civilians torched thousands of synagogues, demolished Jewish homes, beat thousands of people, murdered 91 Jews, and hauled Jewish men away to Nazi concentration camps. The night of state-sanctioned anti-Jewish riots came to be known as "Kristallnacht," or "The Night of Broken Glass."

It was a foreshadowing of the Holocaust that was to come.
Boin, 85, and Bea Karp, 76, are among of a handful of Omahans still living who witnessed Kristallnacht. They are part of a dwindling number, about 35, of Holocaust survivors left in Omaha, once home to nearly 200 survivors.
(We must never forget what happened to our Jewish friends. The evil that was done to them should remind all of us  that it is a big fat lie that people are good for the most part and we must do all we can to keep another Holocaust from taking please. Barack Holocaust Views

Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama toured Israel's Holocaust memorial Wednesday, laying a wreath in memory of the 6 million Jews who died and saying, "Ultimately, this is a place of hope."

Obama toured the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial on a Jerusalem hillside as he moved through a busy day of meetings with Israeli and Palestinian officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The Democratic nominee-in-waiting is on a tour of the Mideast and Europe, a journey financed by his campaign and designed to reassure skeptical voters back home of his ability to serve as commander in chief and guide diplomacy after eight years of the Bush administration.

At the Holocaust memorial, Obama wore a white skullcap as he laid a wreath in memory of the victims of the Nazis.

Later, he said: "I am always taken back to sort of the core question of humanity that the Holocaust raises. That is, on the one hand, man's great capacity for evil, and on the other hand, our ability to come together to stop evil."

(We must always stand up to evil. Obama is right the evil Holocaust shows how man is cable of evil things and at the same time it shows how the good people of this world can fight evil. That kind of goes against his view on the Iraq war. Lets not forget that great saying all it takes for evil to happen is for good people to do nothing. Read more on  Obama's trip to the Holocaust memorial right here.)
