CEO: America 'More Communist than China'

Has America created its own variety of communism with the U.S. Treasury Department’s bailout of two beleaguered government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs), Fannie Mae (NYSE:FNM) and Freddie Mac (NYSE:FRE)? According to Rogers Holding CEO Jim Rogers, the answer is yes.

“America is more communist than China is right now,” Rogers told CNBC Europe’s “Squawk Box Europe” September 8. “You can at least have a free market in housing and a lot of other things in China. And you can see that this is welfare for the rich. This is socialism for the rich. It’s bailing out the financiers, the banks, the Wall Streeters."

(Rogers needs to go live in China, or Cuba to see  what  it truly is like to live  in  a communist nation. Read more of the above story right here .)

Chinese defend Olympic ceremony lip-synch

Chinese officials defended their decision to pass off the voice of a 7-year-old songbird as that of another girl at the Olympic opening ceremony, calling it a simple casting choice. Critics said it was a step too far in China's obsession with the perfect Olympic Games.

Beijing organizers of the games faced tough criticism Wednesday after a whistleblower revealed that the 9-year-old who performed a song during the spectacular opening ceremony was lip-synching to another girl's vocal track.

Yang Peiyi, a 7-year-old with bright eyes and a smile made crooked by the stubs of her first grown-up teeth, was heard by an audience estimated in the billions during Friday night's ceremony, singing "Ode to the Motherland."

But they never saw her face.

( I know some might say this could happen anywhere but this didn't happen anywhere it happened in China, a nation that has the law  one girl child per family or the mother must have a forced abortion. If you don't  value children  one way how can you honor the value of children already born. Read more on this issue Chinese defend Olympic ceremony lip-synch .)

Chinese women's gymnastics team Cheats

After the Chinese women's gymnastics team won its first-ever Olympic gold medal on Wednesday, its diminutive gymnasts celebrated on the arena floor, hopping and hugging and mugging for the cameras. (  see cheating -  )

The team final had come down to the United States and China and was close until the final two rotations, when the Chinese team pulled away in front of an excited and packed crowd. In those rounds, the Americans made several notable mistakes, including two falls by the team leader Alicia Sacramone that paved the way for China.

One day after its men's team won gold, China scored 188.900 for the victory. The United States claimed silver by scoring 186.525, well ahead of the 181.525 recorded by Romania, which followed its gold at the 2004 Athens Games with a bronze medal here.

While the Chinese team celebrated, Martha Karolyi, the U.S. national team coordinator, continued to question the ages of some of China's gymnasts. Concerns over eligibility on the six-member team surfaced before the Olympics and have continued all week.

"One of the girls has a missing tooth," Karolyi said, suggesting that the gymnast was so young that she lost a baby tooth and had yet to have a permanent one emerge.

(What a shock a  communism nation cheats.)

Government School Funding and China Games Video

Community leaders have called on students from poorer parts of Chicago to protest inequalities in school funding by skipping the first day of classes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The countdown to the Olympics in China is over, but the crackdown on Christians and others who have spoken up on human rights keep going on. continues.

In recent weeks, a number of house churches in Beijing have been raided and warned to shut down. Throughout China, Christians are still being persecuted through arrest, imprisonment, and loss of property.

To find out more of my views on these issues watch a video I did a few days  ago School Funding and China Games .

China Human Rights Not Forgotten

Seven years ago, while bidding to host the Games, China promised that journalists would enjoy “complete freedom to report” — including unfettered access to the Internet. That’s now been tossed out the window, thanks to a recent “negotiation” with the International Olympic Committee. For example, reporters won’t be able to access Amnesty International or websites about Tibet.
Maybe China declared that if the IOC didn’t like the censorship, it could pack up and take the games somewhere else . . . figuring it was too late for the Committee to do anything but relent. But for the sake of freedom in this world, the Committee should have called the bluff.

(The above statement was part of a commentary Paul Jacobs
did today. While I love watching the games if they be in China or some place else we must never forget how the  people of China are suffering thanks to their evil government. The IOC made a bibg mistake in giving the games to China which they will have to live with. So lets enjoy the games and hope free nations like the good old USA does well but lets not forget what the people of China are going through. If you like read all of  Paul Jacob's commentary  Welcome to Beijingor Listen to audio file .)

Killing at the Olympics

A knife-wielding Chinese man attacked two relatives of a coach for the U.S. Olympic men's volleyball team at a tourist site in Beijing, killing one and injuring the other on the first day of the Olympics on Saturday, team officials and state media said.

The man then committed suicide by throwing himself from the second story of the site, the 13th century Drum Tower just five miles from the main Olympics site. (  Relative of US Olympic coach killed in Beijing)

(This is sad. Pray for  the love ones and all who knew the one killed, and for the one injured. Pray also this is the one and only attack which takes place in China. Could things like this be the result of  a country which has rejected God? That is something to ponder.)

Protesters rounded up by Beijing police

At least two women who have protested being evicted from their homes ahead of the Olympics were rounded up and taken to a police station, amid ramped up efforts Thursday by activists to use the games to spotlight their causes. (Protesters rounded up by Beijing police )

Zhang Wei and Ma Xiulan, who have been vocal about the pain of losing their family compounds near Tiananmen Square to make way for Olympic construction, were taken from their homes late Wednesday and early Thursday morning, according to Ma.

The efforts are part of stringent security measures for the games by Chinese communist authorities determined that the Olympics should be an international showcase for the country.

With the world's eyes turned on Beijing in anticipation of the games, which start Friday, activists have stepped up their protests to publicize their causes.

(To those who are shocked by this, why? China is run by an evil government. They don't follow God, or believe in human rights unless you are their backers. It is my hope that nations like the USA will do great at the games, and somehow the truth about China will be shown on TV networks around the world.)

Three Days Of Mourning For Victims

China's government has appealed for international aid at the beginning of a three-day period of mourning for tens of thousands of people killed by a huge earthquake.
The country's 1.3 billion population observed three minutes of silence exactly seven days after the tremor left an estimated 71,000 people dead or missing.
The horns of cars, trains and ships sounded with air raid sirens to mark the moment, at 6.28am GMT.
The national flag in Tiananmen Square, which is raised in a solemn ceremony every morning at dawn, fluttered at half-mast.
(Lets keep praying for the people of China. However does anyone besides me find it funny (in a sad way) that they have three days of  mourning yet the government doesn't want their people to follow the one who can help them through this Jesus Christ. Perhaps this all will be used to impact the people of China for the one who can show them the way to go and how to be ready for the next life or storm that might happen. China rages over attack on disabled

A wheelchair-bound Chinese torch bearer has rocketed to national fame after fending off protesters in Paris, becoming a symbol of China's defiance of global demonstrations backing Tibet.
Jin Jing, a 27 year-old amputee and Paralympic fencer has been called the "angel in a wheelchair" and is being celebrated by television chat shows, newspapers and online musical videos after fiercely defending the Olympic torch during the Paris leg of the troubled international relay.
Protesters denouncing Chinese policy in Tibet threw themselves at Jin. Most were wrestled away by police but at least one reached her wheelchair and tried to wrench the torch away.
(Here is  some food for thought. The protesters who attacked this man have done harm to the cause for freedom. It is also funny in a sad way that China cares about the human rights of this man after all the evil they have done to others including forced abortions.
