Trinidad is a bad part of Washington, D.C. In response to a recent crime wave in that neighborhood police set up vehicle checkpoints to keep would-be people who didn't live in Trinidad from being able to get in. Guess what happened some on the left filed a lawsuit. ( D.C. Police Checkpoints Prompt Lawsuit - Investiga... )
Then guess what happened the police had to pull out and guess what happened after that. The shootings resumed including the killing of a 13 year old boy. As Cal Thomas (commentary July 25, 2008 ) pointed out in a radio commentary today those on the left who forced the police to move out have blood on their hands.
When possible we need to do all we can to stop killers. The police were doing their job. Those on the left who fight for rights have got to start thinking about the rights of those who were killed. Cal is right blood is not only on the hands of the killers but also those who stopped the police from doing their job. This is an outrage and should upset all of us including those of us who live far away from D.C.
